They may not have airplanes in mind, but Zookeeper Jeremy Phan explains that Bo, aged two, and the more dexterous seven-year-old Zeke, really are playing. When Phan filmed the moment, he could even hear tickling-induced laughter, although that's not audible in the recording. Play is important for the genetically humanlike bonobos throughout their lives.
